Tragedy struck the Pusser family when Dwana’s mother, Pauline, was shot in the head twice during an attack by assailants in a car in 1967, as stated on the museum’s website.
Dwana was only 16 when her Father died in a car crash while returning home from the fair in 1973. A movie about his life titled “Walking Tall” was made before his death, and two sequels were released in the following years.
