In 2002, on April 18, Dozier and Jeremiah Miller met at La Concha, a motel located on the Las Vegas Strip.
Miller had $12 000 on him to purchase ephedrine (required to cook meth), and Scott Dozier killed him and dismembered his body into a suitcase.
On June 25, 2002, Dozier was taken into custody in Phoenix, Arizona, after they found Miller’s remains in an apartment.
Upon investigation by the Police, it was discovered that Dozier had engaged in a shopping binge with the $12,000 he had supposedly stolen from Miller.
Following his arrest, Dozier was linked to the killing of Jasen “Griffin” Greene, whose disintegrated remains were discovered in the desert north of Phoenix on July 27, 2001.
Dozier is said to have killed Greene at a trailer in Carefree, Arizona, because Greene threatened to expose Dozier’s methamphetamine operation.
When facing trial for Miller’s murder, Dozier asserted that there was no tangible proof to indicate that he was responsible for Miller’s death.

Scott Dozier: Death Penalty & Suicide
Scott Dozier was discovered deceased at the Ely maximum security facility in Nevada on a Sunday, having expressed to authorities his preference for death over spending the rest of his life incarcerated.
Despite having had his execution postponed on two occasions, he instructed the state to proceed with it.
In 2017, Dozier’s scheduled execution was delayed due to apprehensions regarding using an untested blend of drugs, which could cause him to undergo suffocation while being conscious and immobile.
According to legal documents, Dozier made several attempts to end his life in the past few months, including trying to acquire drops of a lethal substance on a paper via prison mail.
While the state maintained that solitary confinement safeguards Dozier from self-harm, his legal team argued that his condition worsened due to unconstitutional treatment.
His lawyers claimed that he was deprived of opportunities for outdoor recreation, communication with his family, and the capacity to read and confer with his attorneys meaningfully.
