Following a guilty verdict from a jury in the previous year, Holmes was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for defrauding investors through her actions.
Additionally, in a separate ruling, U.S. District Judge Edward Davila has directed Holmes to compensate victims with $452 million, to be shared jointly with her former partner and ex-Theranos CEO, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani.
The multimillion-dollar payment will be divided between Holmes and Balwani, her former romantic and business associate.
