In a recent interview with Variety, Austin Butler, 31, revealed that he followed Ryan Gosling’s weight gain method by drinking microwaved Haagen-Dazs to prepare for the role.

“I would buy two dozen doughnuts and eat them all, which helped me pack some pounds,” Butler said.

He added that he would melt ice cream in the microwave and drink it like soup to gain weight.
